Water Heater FAQs
Clear Answers to Common Questions
How do I know if I need a new water heater or just a repair?
If your water heater is under 10 years old and hasn’t had major issues, a repair may be all you need. We’ll look at things like thermostat failure, sediment buildup, or a bad heating element to see if a part swap will solve it. But if the tank is leaking, the system is outdated, or it’s constantly breaking down, replacement is often more cost-effective. We’ll walk you through both options so you can decide with confidence.
What’s the difference between tankless and traditional water heaters?
Tankless water heaters heat water on demand, so you don’t run out of hot water—but they typically cost more upfront and require more specific installation. Traditional tank models store and heat a set amount of water, and they’re often cheaper to install. We’ll help you decide what fits your home, your usage, and your budget. Either way, we install both the right way—no guesswork.
How long does installation take?
Most standard water heater replacements can be done in a single day. We’ll drain and remove the old unit, make sure the new one is properly connected, and test everything before we leave. If it’s a tankless upgrade or a new install with rerouting, it may take a bit longer—but we’ll always give you a heads-up. Either way, we work clean and we work efficiently.
Do you provide the water heater, or do I need to buy one?
We can do both. We supply trusted brands and models we know will last, but if you already purchased a unit, we’re happy to install it as long as it meets local code. Either way, we’ll make sure it’s sized correctly and installed safely. We don’t cut corners—and we won’t install anything we wouldn’t use in our own homes.
