Sewer Repair FAQs

Straight Talk About a Messy Subject

  • How do I know if my sewer line is damaged?

Slow drains throughout your home, gurgling toilets, or water backing up into tubs and showers are common signs of a sewer line issue. If you notice a foul smell in the yard or standing water near your sewer cleanout, the line may be cracked, clogged, or collapsed. In Sammamish, Bellevue, and Issaquah, many older homes have aging sewer lines that are vulnerable to tree roots and shifting soil. We use advanced camera inspections to pinpoint the problem before recommending the best repair solution.

  • Do you offer trenchless sewer repair?

At this time, we do not offer trenchless repairs. However, we handle traditional sewer line repairs with as little disruption as possible. We carefully locate the damaged area and excavate only where necessary to fix the pipe. If trenchless is required for your situation, we’ll point you in the right direction or coordinate with a trusted partner.

  • How long does a sewer line repair take?

Most spot repairs or small section replacements can be completed in one to two days. The timeline depends on the location of the pipe, how deep it is, and the extent of the damage. We’ll always provide a clear plan and schedule up front—no surprises, no runaround. We work quickly and leave the site clean.

  • Can roots really break a sewer pipe?

They can—and tree roots are one of the most common causes of sewer line damage in Eastside neighborhoods, especially in homes with older clay or cast iron pipes. Roots are drawn to moisture and can work their way into even the smallest cracks, eventually breaking the pipe apart as they grow. We’ll remove the roots, assess the extent of the damage, and repair or replace the affected section of pipe to keep your sewer system flowing properly.

  • Is sewer line repair covered by homeowners insurance?

It depends on your policy and the cause of the damage. Some insurance plans cover sudden breaks but not gradual wear, roots, or maintenance issues. We’ll document everything clearly so you can provide it to your insurer. If you’re not sure, we recommend calling your provider with the details we give you.
